Weird and Wonderful opens with Gin Autry's life changing forever. It's also her seventeenth birthday. Every girl has wishes. Here are hers...
"Happy Birthday—," Brandy sang out, and Seraph joined in. Their voices melded together in perfect harmony.
"Make a wish!" Seraph said.
I held up my cupcake and wished—that Nate would get better, that Mama and Daddy would find their way out of the oppressive clutter of the Absolute Truth Bible Church, that I'd get my big anime break, that I'd save up enough money for my dream car, and my most secret wish (one I hadn't mentioned to anyone) that I would find a guy who would be the exact fit for me, the yang to my yin. I shut my eyes, blew out the candle, and wished with all my might.
